Share important information with care.
A passport may contain sensitive information. These simple steps can help you choose what to share and who should receive it.
Before you share
- Preview the exact information the recipient will see.
- Choose the shortest useful sharing period.
- Send the link directly to the intended recipient.
- Do not post passport links or QR codes publicly.
- Remove details that are not necessary for that situation.
- Involve the person described wherever appropriate and respect their wishes.
What a sharing link can and cannot do
A sharing link can be given an expiry date and can be revoked. Autismy does not verify the identity of someone opening an ordinary link. Anyone who receives or is forwarded the link may be able to view it.
A recipient may save, copy, photograph, print, or forward information they can already see. Revoking a link prevents future access through that link. It cannot retrieve copies already made by a recipient.
Urgent help
Autismy is not an emergency service and is not monitored for urgent safeguarding disclosures.
If someone is in immediate danger in the UK, call 999. If urgent medical help is needed but it is not a life threatening emergency, use NHS 111.
A passport can describe what helps during a difficult moment, but it does not replace emergency services, clinical advice, a safeguarding plan, or direct communication with the person.
Report a concern
To report a privacy, safety, or safeguarding concern involving Autismy, email support@autismy.app. Do not use email for an immediate emergency.
If your concern is about information in a passport shared with you, include the sharing link only if it is safe to do so. Do not send additional sensitive information unless we ask for it.
