You carry so much.

If you care for an autistic child, you carry so much information in your head.

You know the sound that is becoming too much before anyone else notices. You know which words help, which questions overwhelm, what a change in expression might mean, and what can make an unfamiliar place feel a little safer.

You remember the ear defenders, prepare for changes, explain the same needs to new people, and quietly plan for situations others may never have to think about.

When your child meets a new teacher, clinician, carer, or activity leader, you are expected to communicate all of that clearly and quickly. It often happens at the exact moment you are already worried about how things will go.

Families should not have to begin from the beginning every single time.

That is why I created Autismy.

I wanted to build one calm place for the information you already know matters: how someone communicates, what they may find difficult, how they show distress, what helps them feel safe, and the small adjustments that can completely change an experience.

Autismy is not here to define anyone by a diagnosis. It is not here to replace their voice, their family, or the professionals supporting them. It is here to help the people around them understand sooner. To see the person, not just the situation.

My hope is that Autismy gives families one less thing to carry alone. That it makes the next introduction a little easier, the next appointment a little calmer, and the next person better prepared to offer the right support.

Because you should not have to find the right words every time. Sometimes, you should be able to arrive knowing they have already been heard.
